This week as we pray revival prayer for Japan we ask you to pray 6 key prayer issues facing the church in Japan:
General Prayer points for Japan
- Pray for the approximate 2000 Protestant missionaries serving in Japan. There are many more who come for short term ministries. Ask the Lord for a special blessing for each of them as they serve Him. May they be affective servants for Christ.
- The Bible teaches us to pray for the King and all those in authority over us. First of all let’s pray for the salvation of the Emperor and the Imperial family. Pray they would read the Bible and be attracted to Jesus. Pray for the salvation of the country’s leaders, for the Cabinet, for all parliament members, local counsellors and other government employers. Pray for the few Christian politicians and government workers. May they represent Jesus well.
- Pray for the effective ministry of several hundred Japanese missionaries who are now labouring around the world for Christ. Ask the Lord to raise more people to go overseas. As these missionaries return to Japan for deputations and rest may their example and dedication stir up each local church to have a burden to reach their communities.
- There are 128 cities in Japan most of them have churches but currently 15 do not have churches. May they all have different Christians willing to come and church plant and come alongside local believers who are not part of a church.
- Across Japan’s rural areas there are 1800 communities that don’t have churches. Very few missionaries work in rural Japan. Give thanks for rural initiatives that now have churches as a result of people praying for these many unreached communities.
