Prayer Guide – Week 21 (March 25-31)

Tokyo, formerly known as Edo, its metropolitan area (13,452 square kilometers or 5,194 square miles) is the most populous in the world, with an estimated 37.468 million residents as of 2018. The city became politically prominent in 1603, when it became the seat of the Tokugawa shogunate. By the mid-18th century, Edo was one of the most populous cities in the world with a population of over one million people.

• Pray for the advancement of God’s Kingdom throughout the dozens of languages in this city.
• Pray for the evangelism teams as they follow the leading of the Holy Spirit to bring the light of Jesus to this city.
• Pray for a mighty movement of prayer to be birthed in Tokyo that multiplies throughout the country.
• Pray for followers of Jesus to walk in the power of the Spirit.
• Pray for a resurrection of God’s divine purpose for this city.

Many Japanese are indifferent to and sceptical of established religion. On the outside, they seem to have few needs. However, many have become obsessed with materialistic pleasures, careers, and possessions. Their greatest need is to be introduced to the Father through His Son, Jesus.

• Ask the Lord to call labourers to go to Japan and share Christ with the Japanese.
• Pray that Christian businessmen will have open doors to share the Gospel with the Japanese.
• Ask the Holy Spirit to soften the hearts of the Japanese toward Christians so that they will be receptive to the Gospel.
• Pray that Japanese Christians will have opportunities to share the love of Jesus with their families and friends.
• Pray that Christian radio and television broadcasts will be effective in reaching the Japanese.
• Pray that God will raise up teams of intercessors to stand in the gap for Japanese people.
• Ask the Lord to raise up strong local churches among the Japanese.
• Pray for revival for this land.
