This week's prayer focus is for Ishikawa and Fukui
Ishikawa is known as the "Kingdom of Buddhism.” It’s home to many who attend Buddhist sermons and Sunday schools. Their form of Buddhism is a syncretism with ancient Shinto and folklore beliefs, producing unique regional religious festivities.
21 of the 30 towns and villages across Ishikawa have no churches. It’s population is 1,175,000 people.
Please pray for:
"And to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him; His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and His kingdom one that shall not be destroyed." - Daniel 7:14
Fukui
Though a small prefecture, Fukui has an extremely high concentration of Buddhist temples, keeping out even the most aggressive of Japan's religious groups. With heavy rain and snowfall it's a geographically unique area. Despite their natural beauty, the Tojinbo sea cliffs attract many hopeless people who aim to commit suicide. Upwards of 25 people per year take their lives by jumping from these cliffs.
Please pray for:
"You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." - Psalm 16:11
You may have heard what is happening at Asbury University these last two weeks.
A move of the Holy Spirit has broken out.
You can read more about it online.
God has been moving powerfully.
Thousands have turned up to see it for themselves.
The Holy Spirit is at work
We long to see a similar move of God here in Japan and in other countries around the world- Syria and Turkey and Ukraine in particular
We want to see God move in our church gatherings and we pray for that.
Let’s through stretch our faith this week.
Let’s get brave and pray God will move powerfully in really difficult situations too.
Like here in Japan.
Holy Spirit fall on this land.
Bring a revival to the Japanese people.
And reveal yourself to those suffering around the world.
For Christians who have left the church life to come back.
That they may repent.
Pray that the church will welcome them with humility.
