This week's prayer focus is Kagawa and Ehime on the island of Shikoku
Prefecture, Japan.
Kagawa is the smallest prefecture in terms of total land area, yet its close proximity to mainland Honshu made it a place of cultural exchange. People here tend to be mellow and optimistic, showing an interest in religion - especially Buddhism.
Please pray for:
"Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
- John 14:13
Ehime Prefecture,
With a mild climate and few natural disasters, the people of Ehime are generally mild. They are submissive to both authority and tradition, while being focused mainly on community issues. This leads them to typically be shy towards strangers and "outsiders."
Those who attend any form of Christian worship service on Sundays account for about 0.002% of the population. 'Operation Japan' prayer guide lists only 4 missionaries working to reach the lost in this prefecture with a population of 1,500,000.
Please pray for:
"I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one Shepherd." - John 10:16
“The people who walk in darkness have seen a great light” says Isaiah. We want to pray that for Japanese people. Pray that the light would shine into their darkness.
Millions of Japanese people hear of Jesus in some way over their life. Christian hospitals, mission schools, Christian kindergartens, the work of the aid agency Hunger Zero, homeless programs run from Churches, Christian football academies, street preaching, meeting a Christian at work or at some recreation activities – the list is long.
As well many Japanese couples choose a Christian wedding and listen to a talk from a Pastor.
Pray for all these opportunities. Pray for those Christians connecting with people outside the Church that miraculously doors will open for them to share faith
Pray that the Kingdom will break into millions of Japanese lives.
During the major holidays, various events will be held at churches and denominations.
Let us pray for them.
